| KUALA LUMPUR: Transactions of
about RM25 million are expected to
be done via the Malaysia Digital
Enterprise Exchange (MDEX) by
year-end, backed by aggressive
marketing, promotions and sales
efforts by ManagePay Systems Bhd
MDEX, a national ICT initiative
of the Multimedia Development
Corporation (MDeC) and SME
Corp, was established last year to
help Malaysian SMEs move online.
ManagePay Systems CEO Chew
Chee Seng said the MDEX National
Tour 2011 would be organised from
July to reach SMEs nationwide.
"To date, 3,300 SMEs have registered with MDEX and this number is expected to grow to 8,000 by year-end," he told reporters at a media briefmg yesterday. More than 21,600 products and services have been uploaded by MDEX subscribers as of May with the value of transactions at more than RM1 million monthly. Chew said 20 new Private Label Portals based on a community approach will be created this year to widen the visibility of the SMEs registered under MDEX. Bernama |
